CHANGES

It’s been too long since I blogged last time. =( But not to worry, I am going to change around this site a bit:

1) NEW LAYOUT! Like this one better than the other one.
2) More movies, less random life talk
3) Theatre thursdays will still be around, but movies that came out before or are new to DVD/Blue ray will also be reviewed
4) Anything “hollywood” related (no, not gossip)
5) Book reviews

STAY TUNED!

THEATRE THURSDAY

Knight and Day:

So my friends and I couldn’t decide on a movie this week, so we all compromised and chose this. It actually came out at the beginning of summer, so I’m surprised they still had it. On to the actual review:

Knight and Day is about a “spy” (Tom Cruise) who kind of went of in a bender and now his agency is coming after him. Cameron Diaz was at the wrong place at the wrong time, so she had to be dragged along. If you watched Mission Impossible, you would expect to see the same high-flying-car-chasing stunts here. There is some spots of comedy thrown in, but if you watch the trailor … then you basically watched all of those scenes.

One thing that they should’ve done was going into more facts and reasons why he was running away. They only touched the surface of it. But I like how Cameron Diaz wasn’t a “damsel in distress” she was able to take care of herself and didn’t let Tom Cruise be a screen-stealer. Maybe this movie isn’t playing anymore, but if it is .. don’t see it.

Oh, something I found interesting was Tom Cruise did this movie instead of Salt. He claims it was too similar to his Mission Impossible movies. agree? or disagree?

TRIP!

Goodness! 2 weeks in a row without a Theatre Thursday! =( Hopefully next week I’ll have one. I haven’t been going out much since school is going to start back and I have to do some pre-school work! (I have about 50 pages of Learning Modules to complete! Darn Nursing!) Is anyone else thinking about the new school year?

My trip went pretty well, and I 100% love shopping in the US. The clothes are way cheaper, even when I convert it back into CAN dollars. I mainly bought fall clothes (back to school shopping FTW!) And I also bought a Nintendo Wii in black, I’ve been playing it everyday since I came back! I saved $15 by buying it in the US, seriously do your shopping before you buy!!

We also went to Washington DC, but it was on the way back home, so we only had time to see the Monument and the White House.

I heard how Washington DC is hot. But that day we went … it felt like it was burning! But everyone else in my family was fine, maybe it’s because I don’t like hot weather to begin with. However, advice to anyone going there, wear shorts!

Bye everyone, and enjoy the rest of the summer!

QUICK BLOG + TRIP

Seriously, the weekend that just past was super duper busy. The wedding started since Thursday and continued to Saturday around 3:30am. Plus, my mom invited our family from the States back to our house for lunch on Sunday. The wedding was extremly fun, probably the first time I didn’t have a boring moment. Maybe it’s because people I haven’t seen in a year or more came, and I was catching up with them every chance I got.

It is so great to see people you hardly ever see. Have you ever gotten that feeling? Also, everyone is getting married and having kids, it reminds me that my family is getting older. :( But, two of my first cousins are getting married this year, so I’ll be seeing everyone again! :)

There won’t be a Theatre Thursday this week (Tear drop!) because I’m going to States to get some shopping done. (Hopefully buy some dresses for these up-coming weddings!) So I’ll make there’s a Theatre Thursday next week, and hopefully it’s a good movie! Any new movie ideas?

THEATRE THURSDAYS

Theatre Thursdays is a day where I do movie reviews about movies that are playing in theatres right now, so you won’t waste your money seeing them.

Inception:

This is one mind-bending movie! From the first 10 seconds to the last 10 seconds, you are going to be asking yourself “what the hell?!” But that’s a good thing, seriously, it is! The movie is about dreams, and how to control people through their dreams and planting ideas in their head so they can act on it in reality. I loved the cast they put together, and I found myself thinking that this is kind of like Ocean’s Eleven and The Matrix put together. In the sense that they have all of these dysfunctional characters trying to fulfill one mission inside this alternate universe that might be what the world really is like.  Aldo, for all of those movies done in 3D, I think this should have been one of them, especially since you see a whole city fold up onto its self. Is it possible that they wanted to save us from one less 3D movie? You are going to love watching this movie, it’s a 100% must see! If you seen Shutter Island, you are going to like this movie to, and vice versa. Enjoy!

Have you seen this movie?
What do you think of it?

BUSY WEEKEND

Finally my summer is getting busy! Every weekend I’m doing something, which makes up for not doing much during the week. The Saturday that just passed, I went to Centre Island. It’s like a very big park that you can just roam around in, and you have to take the ferry to get there so I got some really nice pictures of downtown. We were there for the rest of the afternoon walking around, and we even stumbled upon a firehouse! I thought that was the cutest thing. =)

This weekend, I have a wedding to go to. Weddings these days last like 3 days! So it’s going to be a non-stop from Friday (actually Thursday, but I’m not sure if I’m going to her house that day) to Monday morning! Hopefully I’ll have enough energy to party enjoy all of those days.

From my very first blog, I said I bought 3 books, and from those I decided to start reading Salem Falls. When I first started to read it, it was really boring. But now, I can’t even put it down, it’s probably the most interesting of her books I’ve read.

Thanks for the comments on the last blog! It makes me want to watch even more movies! Haha. Today, I’m going to see Inception with my friends, so I’ll blog about that on Thursday.

Theatre Thursdays

Theatre Thursdays is a day where I do movie reviews about movies that are playing in theatres right now, so you won’t waste your money seeing them.

I’ve been seeing movies a lot lately, so I’m going to do more than one movie review! yay me! =)

#1: GROWN UPS
The trailer looks way better then the movie. There wasn’t much of a “climax” and it seems more like a home video more than a big motion picture. You will laugh a couple of times, because it’s a pretty funny team of people all wrapped up in one movie. But most of the time, they are sitting down on lounge chairs talking to one another. I feel that they should have taken a challenge with their old school rivals and made that the basics of the movies. But they didn’t. So I say skip this movie, and watch this at home.

#2: DESPICABLE ME
This movie is extremly cute! It probably doesn’t look that way in the trailers because of the way the main characters look (Steve Carell and those yellow minons). But you would really love the 3 little girls that are in the story, and how they are worked into the plot. This movie is a definite see in theatres. Oh, it’s also available in 3D, and I heard it’s also a good choice.

#3: KARATE KID
Who can say no to little Jadien Smith? That’s the main reason why I wanted to see this movie. Jackie Chan fit this role perfectly, and I think this is way better then he has ever done. I really have nothing bad to say! So you should see this movie too!

Have you seen these movies?
What do you think of them?
What movies have you seen?

HEY THERE!

I’m trying to make a come back on blogging and webdesigning life. But it’s harder then i thought. I haven’t been doing webdesign for 3 years, so a lot of the links and other things I used to use isn’t around anymore. (i.e HaloScan, my old host…) So even though I saved everything from my last website, everything is different. And now for the first time, I’m using wordpress which is something I’m really not familiar with. I have no idea how to make a template for this, and I’m sad that I can’t use my own layouts. One day I’m going to learn all the tricks, and actually I’m liking all the plugins it comes with! I’m still working on the other components of this site, so only my blog is up and running for now. Later on this week, I should have everything working properly. Check back soon!

Besides that, I went to the bookstore yesterday I bought three books! All by Jodi Picoult. It was a lucky day because it looked like only her books were on sale that day, it was buy 2 get 1 free! I’m excited by that, but now I don’t know which ones to read first. I bought Second Glance, Salem Falls and Mercy. I highly recommend her books, she’s the same author who wrote My Sister’s Keeper.

Well this is it for now! =) And please comment if you want to exchange links.
